The United Kingdom Branch of the International Association Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI UK) is a not for profit association of vehicle specialists, acting across the many disciplines, locally nationally and internationally. It is a membership organisation not registered for VAT. Its constitution can be downloaded from www.iaati.org.uk on the Membership webpage – click here.
IAATI UK is a strategic player in the vehicle crime arena and works with law enforcement agencies and industry tackling organised vehicle crime. IAATI UK has purposefully positioned itself to be a strategic player in the arena of vehicle crime, partnering with trusted organisations who are service providers in intelligence, enforcement, prevention, and disruption activities. We aim to make the work of the vehicle criminal harder, and ultimately, denying them the use of the road. This brings together, Government Agencies, Policing, Local Authorities, Insurers, Manufacturers and After Market suppliers, all playing a part in achieving a reduction in Vehicle Crime.
We recognise that ‘traditional’ vehicle crime, such as theft of or from vehicles is no longer regarded as a policing priority by most forces. However, the use of vehicles in acquisitive crimes, such as burglary, supporting serious and organised crime, and potential links to terrorist offences cannot be overlooked. Electronic theft methods are increasingly being employed by Organised Criminal Gangs and the industry and vehicle security suppliers are working hard to combat this serious threat.
IAATI UK will play host to the National Vehicle Crime Seminar at the Holywell Park Conference Centre at Loughborough, on Wednesday the 31st May & 1st June 2017; a day and a half event attracting senior practitioners, opinion formers, law enforcement, intuitive projects, vehicle examiners and a healthy cross section of key players from the plant, agricultural, haulage, leisure, salvage, I.T., insurance and motor manufacturer industries.
This event will concentrate on classroom Training (Awareness) sessions covering Electronic, Physical, Marking, insurance fraud and other aspects of vehicle crime with a focus on insurance and motorcycle issues.
IAATI UK Banquet and Awards evening:
This year will see the inaugural IAATI UK Banquet/Awards dinner (business attire) to be held at the seminar location on the evening of the 31st May, 2017. We will recognise those within the industry that have showed outstanding initiative or innovation in auto-theft related crime.
IAATI UK is also looking for Corporate partners to sponsor Award packages recognising industry achievements in their area of expertise and we are happy to discuss options available for Corporate presentation and exposure at the IAATI Award/Banquet evening. The evening will begin with a champagne reception, followed by dinner and the awards themselves culminating with a charity raffle.
