IAATI is the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators. This association was founded in the USA in 1952, European Branch in 1989 and the United Kingdom Branch in 2001. The International organisation has further representation in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, Southern Africa and Asia.

The membership is made up from representatives of serving and retired police-officers, custom officers, insurance companies and their investigators, vehicle rental companies, car leasing companies, members of the vehicle licensing organizations, vehicle manufacturers, lawyers and many others with a legitimate professional interest in vehicle theft investigation, prevention and education.

Each of the 10 Branches/Chapters throughout the globe host their own annual regional training conference. Each year the International Board choose one of those regions to co-host the conference with them. The UK branch succeeded with their bid to co-host the 67th International Annual Training seminar for IAATI in 2019 in Glasgow and are pleased to say they are joined by the European Branch of IAATI and Police Scotland to ensure the success of this year’s conference. This guarantees the event as a truly international symposium with delegates from throughout the globe with first class presentations and training being delivered which is why this event is badged as the 67th IAATI International Vehicle Crime Conference & Expo.

In addition to the various training opportunities and networking opportunities, each member receives access to IAATI’s worldwide membership database, where he (or she) will be able to obtain information and assistance on virtually any auto theft related problem. In addition, each member receives quarterly news bulletins (Auto Theft Today) and the APB, both of which contain updates on vehicle theft issues, current court decisions pertaining to auto theft and upcoming training information.
